    Hi all,

First, I apologize if my english isn’t very good, as it’s not my maternal language.

Back in the mid-late 80’s, when I was only a child, and despite the harsh graphics, I really enjoyed playing the Wizard’s Crown RPG on my old C64.
The game was not easy, but what I really liked was the possibility to choose between quick play for the too easy fights or those we were not sure about the strategy to adopt, and a very complete strategic combat when we choose to play it.
The loot system was also something very interesting, whith always the little pleasure to look if we had been lucky enough to get a good magical item.
And of course, always the fear of having gone too far in the ruins, without the possibility to come back due to the mobs packs.
Really, it was a game very complete for his era (and I could also extend it to nowadays), and I also enjoyed very much to play its sequel the Eternal Dagger.
Finally, the only flaw I saw in this game was the fact that the rogue profession was too cheap (even free (!) in the eternal dagger).

So, have some of you also enjoyed lpaying this game (or games if including The eternal dagger), and, for the TSI team, do you think this game could get one day a sequel, nearly 30 years afterwards ?

Now, I go creating the same post for the Phantasie series.

Paul Murray, the creator of Wizard’s Crown and Eternal Dagger is with us at TSI. So you can count on his style and expertise in our games. We are undecided if, in the future, we will make an actual sequel.

Hehe yeah as I’ve said in my e-mails to the staff, that would be a life long dream of mine to either see a sequel or even remake of the games first as Wizard’s Crown is my favorite game of all time. I first played it on the Atari 65xe and then when I purchased a Commodore 64, I bought it again.

Thank you for your answer, TSI team, this is a very good news to know that you still keep an eye on this. 🙂
This is truly the project n#1 I would like to see you make one day, althought I’m not sure about its commercial appealing. Maybe some Kickstarter campaign could give an hint for this, or if you gain enough money to make a game even if commercial success would be uncertain.

I’ve just another question that bug me for some time :
Thinking about how WC works, with movement phase and tactical combat phases, has this game had any impact on how you designed the Gold Box games, or was there absolutely no link in your mind between those 2 series ?

Oh, and as I’m here, same question I asked in the Phatasie Topic, but for The Eternal Dagger : why was it never released on PC although Wizard’s Crown was ? Was it only for pure commercial reasons ?

I played both of these on my C64 as well. I remember being upset that Eternal Dagger never got a sequel – at the end of it you end up in a new world, IIRC.

Presumably once they got the D&D license, that was their main focus.
